Escape to Nature

Getaway houses are remote cabins outside major cities throughout the U.S. designed for you to disconnect to reconnect.

We arrived Sunday night to a sky FULL of stars like we had never seen before. We found a staff member on site who led us to our cabin, and descended a short flight of stairs to a secluded area where our cabin awaited us. Away from the other cabins, we had so much privacy. We checked in effortlessly using the keypad on the door. From our bedside window, we could still see all the stars in the night sky.

On Monday morning, we awoke to the most beautiful view of a forest filled with autumn colored leaves through our bedside window. We started the day making tea and gluten free pumpkin pancakes, and played my favorite conversation-starter game, Icebreakers - a deck of 150 conversation prompts that spark meaningful discussions and strengthen relationships (Use my code NATASHAPEREZ01 for 15% off!). As the day went on, we lounged in bed, read, listened to music, played games, talked, and napped freely. It was lovely to be able to be so present and really enjoy each other’s company in such a peaceful place. Later, we went for a walk, explored the grounds, and raced up a hill (Rami thinks he won, but let’s be real - I did). We didn’t run into anyone at all! It almost felt like we had the entire forest to ourselves. Once we returned to our cabin, we enjoyed a bottle of wine and charcuterie board in our outside seating area (the weather was so nice and cool out!). Then, Rami cooked us a delicious dinner and we were able to see the stars right from our cabin.

On Tuesday morning, we made s’mores (pro tip: add dark chocolate almond butter - you’ll thank us later), and visited the Chattahoochee National Forest. We stopped for some epic views of the vibrant colored autumn leaves on this part of the Appalachian Trail. We got to talking with the kindest older gentleman we met who snapped this photo of us right before we started our journey home. It was an unforgettable getaway!

We road tripped 10 hours from Parkland, Florida and took our time stopping off in little towns on our way to the Chattahoochee outpost in Suches, Georgia. In my experience, slow living and taking the road less traveled always brings the best experiences. No rush, no wifi, no work, no distraction, no routine, nowhere to be. Just me, nature, and the best company.

These cabins are designed to take you off the beaten track and make space for more free time. Getaway’s cozy cabins provide restorative stays in nature where you can take a break from work, wifi, and routines, and enjoy the company of those who matter most. We stayed in the “Forest View” cabin.

The entire experience is remote!

  • Contactless check in/check out via keypad

  • Cabins far from each other so you don’t see others

  • No wifi to really disconnect
